Los Angeles International Airport came to a standstill after a person yelled that someone had a gun, causing 300 people to flee Terminal One onto the tarmac.
LAX was forced to ground all departing and arriving flights Thursday night after a report of a person with a firearm in the airport's Terminal One sent 300 people fleeing to the airports tarmac, from where flights park and depart after landing and taking off.
Two people sustained minor injuries during the stampede.
Airport police responded to the scene and detained two people over the false, LAX airport said in a statement, but their identifies have not been shared.
One man said to have been behind the scare was snapped handcuffed and sat on a sidewalk afterwards. He hasn't been named, and it is not yet clear what charges he may face.

Although there were reports of shots fired, LAPD said they found no weapon and no shots were actually fired in the incident, ABC News 7 reported.
A pilot who was in his plane at the gate witnessed the panic on the tarmac and contacted the LAX tower, telling them 'We believe there is an active shooter in the terminal. This is not a joke,' the pilot said, adding 'and people are just pouring out of the terminal.'
Video shows hundreds of people lined up against the tarmac wall with emergency personnel vehicles nearby and paramedics helping two people who sustained minor to moderate injuries during the chaos, LAX said.
Shortly after overhead footage captured the travelers being loaded onto a bus from the tarmac to return to the terminal once airport officials gave the all-clear.

Chantel Mohn who was traveling from Arizona, explained the chaos to ABC News 7, saying she was initially not sure what was happening but once she was told there was an active shooter she made a run for it.
'I said "what's happening, what is going on?" and they were like ''there is an active shooter" and I was like "wait what?" so I packed up my stuff and I ran out, alarms started going off,'
'When other people were running, I started running too,' she added, saying she did not want to die before her upcoming birthday.
