'He was killed to have his mouth shut,' Chajtur said.

López Sanabria, also known as Magdaleno Meza Fúnez, was the target of an assassination attempt in February when an inmate was busted with a hand grenade hidden inside his anus.
He made headlines after he faked his death in 2016 and arranged a funeral service, all part of a plot to avoid his extradition to the United States.
Honduran authorities finally arrested him in June 2018 along with his wife and three other men. He was held the National Penitentiary Center for two months before he was transferred to El Pozo.
The deputy director of Honduras's Penitentiary Institute, Germán McNeil, called his killing 'a lamentable act that we will investigate to provide a detailed report.'
