'That's like five people': Nancy Pelosi dismisses Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's progressive wing in 60 Minutes interview

Speaker Nancy Pelosi appeared to belittle Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's affiliation with a progressive group in Congress in a new interview.
In the sit-down with Lesley Stahl of 60 Minutes on Sunday, the 79-year-old Pelosi was asked about pushback she received from the left-wing of her own party.
The Speaker is specifically asked about the Democrat's progressive caucus that includes the outspoken 29-year-old Ocasio-Cortez.

'You have these wings - AOC, and her group on one side,' Stahl begins asking her.
'That's like five people,' Pelosi interjected.
'No, it's - the progressive group is more than five,' Stahl responds.
'Well, the progressive - I'm a progressive. Yeah,' the Speaker adds.
Pelosi may have been referring to the Justice Democrats, a political action committee that supported a small slate of seven representatives that includes Ocasio-Cortez.
The Congressional Progressive Caucus, however, includes 78 members of the House of Representatives and Senator Bernie Sanders, according to its website.

Stahl continued to press about challenges from the progressive groups with their calls for replacing Obamacare with Medicare for all, an issue Pelosi has disagreed about with her more liberal wing.
While explaining her position that she does believe the Affordable Care Act is the better option, the Speaker deflects the idea that Medicare for all is socialist or that socialism is in fact favored by Democrats.
'I do reject socialism as an economic system. If people have that view, that's their view,' she said addressing those more progressive members of her party. 'That is not the view of the Democratic Party.'
Earlier this month, Pelosi also appeared to take a subtle swipe at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez while discussing members of Congress with large Twitter followings.
She made it clear that the number of followers will not impress her, but rather how good representatives are at passing legislation.
'While there are people who have a large number of Twitter followers, what's important is that we have a large number of votes on the floor of the house,' she said on April 8.
Though she didn't mention Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez by name, the freshman NY congresswoman has amassed a huge Twitter following.
Ocasio-Cortez has 3.87 million Twitter followers to Pelosi's 2.42 million.
Following its airing, President Trump added is own impression of the 60 Minuts interview, calling it a 'puff piece' on Twitter.
