Anti-abortion protesters target Biden as he attends church service at church where son Beau is buried before focusing on key state of Pennsylvania on last Sunday of campaign

A few pro-life protesters showed up at the Delaware church Joe Biden attended on the final Sunday morning before Election Day – the same place where the Democratic nominee's son Beau is buried.

The three demonstrators, two women and one man, held signs and chanted, 'Repent for your soul' and 'Repent for Beau's soul', in reference to Biden's late son. The cemetery was situated between the protesters and Biden, who was attending church there.

As Bien left the church, two of the demonstrators chanted, 'Joe, you're a disgrace to the Catholic faith.'

One woman's sign read, 'No Catholic can vote for Joe Biden,' and the other woman's read, 'Joe – No devout Catholic supports abortion.'

The man's sign read, 'Joe Biden equals abortion, euthanasia and infanticide.'

Biden spent the final Sunday before Election Day rallying voters in the all-important swing state of Pennsylvania – after first attending church on the rainy morning at the church in the Wilmington, Delaware outskirt.

The former vice president made two stops in Philadelphia on Sunday, an appearance at a Baptist church for a Souls To The Polls event, and a rally in Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park in the town centre.

His return to Philadelphia underscores the significance of Pennsylvania, the Rust Belt state that helped deliver President Donald Trump the White House victory four years ago.

With 20 Electoral College votes, Pennsylvania is one of the more influential and critical swing states Trump need for another victory – along with Florida, which is considered a 'toss up' by Cook Political Report and holds 29 votes.

Biden, who often lauds Pennsylvania as his home state, has visited there more times than any other battleground state this cycle, and Philadelphia remains a key base of Democratic support in the state.

The Democratic nominee, the rest of his top surrogates, his wife Jill, vice presidential candidate Senator Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, will also fan out across the state on Monday.

On Sunday, Harris campaigned in Duluth, Georgia.

While Biden's campaign argues he can still win without Pennsylvania, Trump's path to victory would narrow considerably without the state's 20 electoral votes.

The president has made Pennsylvania a priority as well, he held four rallies across the state on Saturday, and will return on Monday for a campaign event in Biden's hometown of Scranton.
