Marianne Williamson Deletes Tweet About Anti-Sanders ‘Coup,’ Maintains Dems Acting ‘Very Uncool’

Best-selling author and spiritual guru Marianne Williamson, who ran in the Democratic  presidential primary but has since endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), has deleted a post-Super Tuesday tweet saying that former Vice President Joe Biden’s surging support among Democrats was the result of an anti-Sanders “coup.”
“Jake Tapper referred to the ‘resurrection’ of Joe Biden’s campaign. This was not a resurrection; it was a coup. Russiagate was not a coup. Mueller was not a coup. Impeachment was not a coup. What happened yesterday was a coup. And we will push it back,” wrote Williamson, in a since deleted tweet, according to Vox.
In a tweet later that evening, Williamson elaborated on what she meant, arguing it was the political establishment – and the Democratic establishment, which doesn’t “trust democracy” – that was actually behind the surge.
“Dana Bash said tonight that the moderate lane ‘organically’ fell into place behind Biden today. No it did not. What happened was a result of a strategized, orchestrated plan to block someone deemed inconvenient to the political establishment,” said Williamson.

Elite Republicans don’t respect democracy; elite Democrats don’t trust democracy. Real power in the hands of the people is a threat that neither of them can abide.

During a conversation with talk radio host Joe Madison, Williamson explained her tweet, and argued that she only deleted it because the word “coup” constitutes “incendiary language.”
“Listen, Pete Buttigieg didn’t just wake up that morning and say ‘Oh, I want to suspend and endorse Biden.’ Amy didn’t just wake up,” Williamson told Madison. “That was strategized. It was a political hit. It was, I felt, very wrong.”
“I think that what happened Monday night was very uncool, and I re-wrote a tweet that basically makes the same criticism, it just doesn’t use that word, which sends people climbing up a wall because god forbid we have radical truth-telling at this point,” said Williamson.
In a Wednesday morning tweet, President Trump also suggested that the Democratic establishment had coordinated an anti-Sanders surge.
“The Democrat establishment came together and crushed Bernie Sanders, AGAIN!” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. “Even the fact that Elizabeth Warren stayed in the race was devastating to Bernie and allowed Sleepy Joe to unthinkably win Massachusetts. It was a perfect storm, with many good states remaining for Joe!”

According to The New York Times, former President Obama spoke with Pete Buttigieg shortly before the former mayor dropped out of the race; however, people familiar with the phone call told the news agency that Obama didn’t pressure Buttigieg into endorsing Biden.
Sanders, in an attempt to regain his once prominent status as frontrunner, has unveiled three ads that capitalize on flattering remarks Obama has previously given about the self-avowed democratic socialist.

“I think people are ready for a call to action,” said Obama in the ad, reports Politico. “They want honest leadership who cares about them. They want somebody who’s gonna fight for them. And they will find it in Bernie.”
